Notification for engagement of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Junior Research Fellow
(JRF) under NMPB funded project
Applications are invited for the engagement of Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow under the NMPB project entitled “Genetic stock development, standardization of good agricultural practices (GAPs) and market analysis of Pseudarthria viscida (L.) – a red listed high volume trade medicinal plant”

Eligibility criteria (JRF)
Essential:
1. The candidate must have Master’s degree in relevant subject (Agronomy / Horticulture
/ Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry / Plant Breeding and Genetics / Chemistry /
Botany) from a recognised University
2. The candidate should have qualified National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET including
Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or National Level Examination conducted by Central
Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE,
DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

1. Qualification prescribed for JRF
2. Two years of research experience
Desirable:
1. Research publications in UGC/SCI journals with NAAS rating
2. Knowledge in computer applications, data organization/ management/ report
preparation/ writing, power point presentation etc.
Age Limit: Below 35 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given as per
the Govt. of India norms
Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- (JRF) and Rs. 28,000/- (SRF). Revised emoluments of Rs. 31,000/-
(JRF) and Rs. 35,000/- (SRF) will be provided as and when released from the funding agency.
(N.B.: The above revised emoluments are subject to eligibility as laid out in Office Memorandum Z. 18017/187/CSS/R&D/13/2019-20-NMPB-IV-A dt. 24/7/2020, issued by National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. Candidates not meeting these requirements will not be eligible for revised emoluments).
Period of appointment: 3 years or till the end of project, whichever is earlier
Selection process:
Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format (Annexure- I) with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of marks obtained and self attested photocopies of credentials and experience to reach the undersigned on or before January 30, 2021.

The Advertisement number along with the position for which the candidate is applying should be mentioned in the ‘SUBJECT’ part of the Email.
Applications which are not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply. Applicants will be short listed for the selection interview based on eligibility criteria. The date, time and venue of interview will be intimated through email. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
Other terms and conditions:
The candidate must bring all the original certificates including experience certificate in original with them for the selection interview. No TA/DA will be paid to the applicants for appearing in interview. The appointments will purely be time-bound, on contractual basis of non-regular nature and co terminus with the project. The University or institute will hold no responsibility for payment of emoluments/ regular employment after termination of the project. Notwithstanding the duration of the scheme, the engagement of JRF/SRF can be discontinued owing to administrative reasons at any time by issue of one month’s notice or one month’s emoluments in lieu thereof. Non-maintenance of the discipline or failure to perform the duties
assigned will make the JRF/SRF liable for termination. The JRF/SRF may also leave the assignment, on their own volition, by giving one month’s notice. At the end of the contract period, the JRF/SRF will have no right to claim any employment or engagement in the ICAR/ KAU. The incumbent shall not have any claim for regular appointment under ICAR/ University. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification of the candidature or termination even after appointment. The timely guidelines issued for JRF/SRFs engaged under the NMPB schemes will be followed.
