The UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research (UGC-DAE CSR) is an autonomous institution
established by the UGC, New Delhi with its head-quarter at Indore and Centres at Indore, Mumbai
and Kolkata. This Consortium also has a Node near IGCAR at Kalpakkam. Each Centre is headed by
a Centre-Director. The UGC-DAE CSR coordinates research from scientists/teachers from all Indian
universities and academic institutes on major facilities like Dhruva reactor, Variable Energy
Cyclotron, Indus Synchrotron, etc. established by the Department of Atomic Energy. In addition, the
Centres are also having many advanced research facilities including in the areas of condensed matter
physics or allied areas.
SCIENTIST-D: One (1) post with initial posting at Kolkata Centre.
(i) Pay Band and Grade Pay : Level 11 in the 7th Central Pay Commission of Government of India
Maximum Age Limit ; 40 years as on closing date of application.
Minimum Qualification & Experience ; For the post at Kolkata Centre: M.Sc. in any branch of Life / Physical Sciences along with 5 years
research experience or Ph.D. in Radiation Biology or allied areas, such as biochemical/and or biophysical studies towards radiation therapy, as supported by at least three publications in peer-reviewed journals to evidence a high-level expertise in the relevant field of research.
Preference will be given to candidates having hands-on experience and
proven capability of new value addition in the related area of research.
The candidate will be expected to work closely with the consortium’s
user community, which includes scientists and teachers from various
universities and academic institutes.
Candidates having inadequate hands-on expertise in the required
areas of research will not be called for interview.
We welcome applications from less-represented sections of the society in our institute and women
candidates.
The consortium reserves the right to screen and call only such candidates for an interview as are found
suitable. Thus, just fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria would not entitle one to be called for
interview.

The candidate will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- through online bank transfer and
include the transaction ID / UTR number at the online application portal. Women candidates will have
to pay Rs. 500/-. Candidates belonging to SC/ST and persons with disability are exempted from
paying this fee.
Note regarding the earlier advertisement: Candidates who had applied for this post against the
earlier advertisement (2/2021) need not pay any fee. However, they must reapply with an updated CV
and quote the earlier transaction ID / UTR number of online bank transfer at the online application
portal.
